Just follow secret fat busters:

[1] Ice, ice baby
By now, we all know the benefits of guzzling gallons of water. But the icing on the glass is that you can benefit some more by throwing in a few cubes. When you drink iced water, your body needs to use over 40 calories just to bring the water to room temperature in order to absorb water into the system, thereby forcing your system to burn, baby, burn.

[2] Breathe in, breathe out
This may sound too good to be true, but oxygen can help you slim down. Concentrate and take a deep breath; suck the air in till you feel it way down in your stomach, not just your chest. When your breathe in, try to exhale longer than you inhale. This eliminates toxins that will otherwise be stored as fat.

[3] Switch meals around
If you find yourself succumbing to your sweet tooth after dinner every night — when you’re least likely to indulge in physical activity to burn it — turn back the clock. Have your dessert after breakfast. Not only will the sugar kick help you at work, you will also burn it off more efficiently since your body is in high metabolism mode. Likewise, avoid high-carb foods such as pizza and rice at dinner; such indulgences in the morning are a lesser evil.

[4] Wake and smell the...
Research suggests that certain smells can trick the brain into believing that the stomach is full. Among these aromas are that of coffee (especially flavoured), peppermint and green apple. Awareness about aromatic pleasures of food only heightens any gastronomic experience.

[5] Warm food, cold nights
Hot food is more satisfying that its refrigerated counterparts. Warm bread feels oven-fresh, and even eliminates the need for butter. Steamed vegetables are more feel-good when compared to a cold salad. Follow the exact opposite philosophy at night: The colder your room, the more heat your body requires, thereby utilising more calories to provide it.

[6] Replace chocolate with... perfume!
Kill cravings for sinfully gooey, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate by taking in a whiff of a strong perfume. If you don’t want to lug a bottle of scent along, a perfumed handkerchief is good enough. Just pull that hanky out when you pass a restaurant or a roadside food stall.

[7] Eat more, lose weight
Instead of stuffing your face at two to three major meals, eating about six smaller, well-balanced meals makes sense. I also recommend in-between snacks like a handful of peanuts or a salad.

[8] Live a dog’s life
Don’t forget to celebrate when you have lost even a little weight. I make it a point to attend doggie parties; I end up running more than the dogs and work out without even thinking about it!

[9] Don’t pass the salt, sugar
Avoid sprinkling salt on food, and sugar on your cereal. Excessive salt leads to water retention, and everyone knows how high calorie sugar is. Try not to eat while
chatting with friends.

[10] Bai ko bye bye
Sack your maidservant; you probably crib about her inefficiency anyway. This gives you double the benefit: a sparkling, clean home and a toned body.

[11] Downsizing helps
The bigger the caramel popcorn serving or ice cream tub, the cheaper it gets. If this is how you think, it’s time you introduced your waistline to some economising. Make it a point to ask for the smallest: a small-sized single-scoop ice cream cone, a tiny bag of calorie-laden chips... If you can’t deprive yourself of junk food altogether, at least try to sin in smaller measures.

[12] Sit up straight
Being sloppy equals burning fewer calories. You will burn at least 10% more calories if you choose to sit up straight rather than recline. And keep that spine erect while standing and walking instead of slouching.

[13] Candlelight pleasure
This isn’t just for romantic pleasure. Dim lights help reduce appetite. On the contrary, bright lighting acts as a stimulant, thereby making you overeat.

[14] Spice it up
Even if you’ve forced yourself to switch to low-fat food, it doesn’t necessarily translate into tasteless chow. A liberal sprinkling of your favourite spice — be it chilli, pepper or clove — will not only make the dish in question more tempting, it will also rev up your metabolism and help you burn calories at a faster pace.

[15] Banish the straw
Drinking from a straw and chewing gum incessantly only send air directly to your stomach and make you feel and look bloated. Stop being an airhead.

Natural remedy for acne

Cleanse your face with a medicated cleanser.

To make a natural skin toner, add two drops of tea tree essential oil to a bottle of rose water.

Facial sauna: Add two drops of clove oil to a bowl of hot water. The sun bathing you may do on the beach (If you're honeymooning on the beach) strips your hair of its natural oils, resulting in straw hair.

Solution : Use a straw hat or a scarf. Do remember to condition your hair thoroughly with intensive conditioner after every wash. Rinse your hair after every swim, even in a pool. Chlorine can wreak havoc with hair condition.

1. Style - Use clips and interesting hair accessories to hold your hair off your face. Shoulder length hair looks great left seductively loose around your face.
2. Must do - Get a great hair cut before your wedding so that your hair is in its best shape ever.
3. Secret tools - Do carry a hair drying system with you to add instant volume and glamour curls in a jiffy.

Your Make-up

You have to carry the radiant, blushing bride look through your honeymoon. Do ensure that you have a natural blush at hand to keep you glowing naturally. Don't slap on the colour though, just use a slight hint to create a slight flush. Blend colour well. Carry along a big fluffy brush to help you blend blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Creating cheekbones is passe, instead use colour on cheeks. Use a sheer wash of eyecolour to accentuate the shape of your eyes. Do keep along a jojoba lip balm to keep your lips moisturised and unflaky. Use a lipliner to define the shape of your lips, plump out thin lips or narrow down overfull lips. Fill in lip colour with a lip brush -- use a light shade if your complexion is fair and your lips are narrow. For fuller lips you can go darker.

Powder your lips after the first coat, and reapply lipstick for longer staying power. Or get one of the longstaying lipsticks available in the market --Revlon, Maybelline, Avon, Lakme, Orchids and L'Oreal all have slimsticks with longstaying benefits.

Hair Care - Split Ends

The problem of split ends occurs when the cuticle is damaged and the fibres of the cortex unravel. Beautiful as it is, it needs care, if it is to last. People with normal skin start showing signs of age and wrinkling sooner than others. Daily cleansing, toning and nourishing is the adequate care for normal skin.

Oily skin: In this kind of skin, oil producing glands are overactive. They produces more oil than is needed, which oozes up, giving the skin a greasy shine. The pores are enlarged and the skin has a coarse look. This kind of skin also suffers from blackheads, pimples & acne. Oily skin needs special cleansing to keep the pores unclogged.

Dry skin: Majority of the people have dry skin. Your skin lacks both sebum and moisture. It looks fine textured, transparent, patchy and fragile. There are many factors which affect dry skin and make them even ore dry. For instance, washing with soap & water not only removes grime but also the natural oils that protect the skin. Exposure to the sun, air- conditioners and heaters also take their toll. Dry skin always needs moisturiser which increases the water content of the outer layer of the skin, giving it a soft, moist look.

Taking care of your skin

If you want a good skin, the most important thing is to take care of it daily. Make it your habit. Your diet also plays an important part, so does getting adequate sleep and exercise.
If you like your skin to be young forever, follow these basic rules:

1. Cleanse your skin twice a day with products suited to your skin type.
2. See a beauty therapist regularly after the age of 25
3. Learn to treat the skin according to its type.
4. Avoid sun.
5. Avoid smoking.
6. Drink 8 glasses of water daily.
7. Use a face mask once a week.
8. Exercise regularly.
9. Remember that a regular care & routine pays you back.
10. Neglect accelerates ageing more than anything else.

Skin care in winter

Lemon as a beauty aid
Start your morning with a combination of half a lemon of juice and an orange, squeezed in hot water, sweetened with honey.
For weight watchers & those on a reducing programme, lemon is excellent. Since it helps in depigmentation of the skin, it is useful for those suffering from blemishing and blotchy skin.

Lemon as a hand lotion: Mix lemon juice to rose water and rub on hands to get smooth hands. Rub granulated sugar and the juice of a lemon together till the sugar is dissolved. Then rinse it off. Do this regularly for a month and see the difference.

Lemon as bleach: rub lemon halves on elbows, heels and toes and then rinse off.

Lemon as a hair rinse: Add lemon juice to boiled & strained tea water. Use immediately after the shampoo. It highlights dull hair, making it shine.

Henna miracles
Henna is used to color the hair, hands and nails. Henna gives reddish color to the grey hair, but not to those with dark hair, either brown or black. Dark hair cannot turn red. Instead henna will give them beautiful coppery tints, which would highlight the hair, making it gleaming & lustrous.

Daily care for dry skin in winter

First thing on your routine should be cleansing. Most of us use some kind of make-up on our skin, so cleansing is very essential. A cactus cleanser with a lemon base is the best. Cactus is ideal for rehydrating the skin. The cleanser must be massaged gently, into the skin, paying particular attention to the creases of the nose under the chin, neck and ear lobes.
Second step is toning of the skin, toning removes the last stages of cleanser and dissolves dirt. It is good if you use skin toning lotion. A skin tonic, with mint and honey base would be excellent for delicate & parched skin. Beat a raw egg and apply it as a mask on the face and neck, leave it for 20 minutes and then wash your face with cold water. I have tried this and believe me it works, beat an egg and mix 2 teaspoon of brandy, apply it to your hair and leave it for 30 mins before you wash your hair.

Apricot - It works as anti aging cream and also helps to lighten the stretch marks. It can also be used in face packs.

Castor oil – Apply castor oil into the scalp at bedtime and wash your hair next morning. It is said to rejuvenate the hair. Or you can also rub the castor oil in to the scalp and then cover your head with a large towel dip in hot water, but please take the water out from the towel, you only need to tie hot towel so that it will allow greater penetration of oil into your scalp. Castor oil also helps to darken and thicken the eyelashes when applied on them.

Honey – Honey is the best natural moisturisers, very good in winter when the skin gets very dry and dull. Apply it straight from the honey bottle, without mixing anything to it. For oily skin mix egg white with honey and apply. Always wash your face with cold water.

Cucumber – Cucumber has a cleansing and soothing effect on the skin. Dip cotton balls in cucumber juice and use them as eye pads, very effective for tired eyes.

Potato – Raw potatoes are very good to make skin shine. Add this powder to face mask mixtures; they are good for skin toning.

Yoghurt - Yoghurt is a good natural cleanser and contains enzymes.
